Consultancy Assignment - Consultant-Ministry of Local Government and Provincial Councils - Colombo
The Government of Sri Lanka has applied for a credit from the International development Agency (IDA) to undertake a Provincial Road Project to upgrade and rehabilitate dilapidated Provincial Roads in Uva Province and Ampara District of Eastern Province. The roads in Ampara District to be rehabilitated under this project have been identified and short-listed. It is now required to finalize the short list taking into consideration the fact that the selection is fair to al stakeholders in the District.
The Ministry wishes to recruit an individual Consultant for this task on short term basis.
Qualifications and experience:
1. a post graduate degree in anthropology/ sociology/ social science
2. At least 6yrs field experience of working with diverse communities and other stakeholders (Policy level, mid management level, civil society, etc.)
3. good communication skills
4. able to analyze primary information/ data and good skills in written English
The terms of reference for this assignment can be obtained from the Project Director, Provincial Road Project, Ministry of Local Government and Provincial Councils, No. 330, Union Place, Colombo 2, until 4th June 2009.
